The Evaluators must be PMP certified, have at least two years experience as a project manager and have enough time to evaluate 4-6 projects commencing February 4 and completing February 19. The Columbia River Basin Chapter of PMI has been continuously sponsoring an annual Project of the Year (POY) competition since the Chapter’s chartering in 1994. The Chapter conducts its regional competition during the same time period as that conducted by the Project Management Institute’s Global Operations Center. Projects completed between February of the current year and January 31 of the following year are eligible to submit a proposal for consideration by an impartial set of judges. Announcement of the winning project occurs at the annual POY Banquet that is conducted the first Tuesday in March each year. The winner at the local level then goes on to compete as an International Semi-finalist.

The CRBC-PMI Chapter's 16th Annual POY Awards Banquet will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Red Lion Hotel in Richland, WA.
